Landscape of Coria del Río, Sevilla
2007
Following the course of the Guadalquivir, I arrived to Coria del Río. Its landscape, old boats, and something inside of me, made me feel the vibrations of a zen place. I took photos and painted pictures with chinese ink, brushstrokes with a Japanese feel. Later, on seeing my work, the gallery curator from La Puebla told me that in 1614 envoys of the Japanese court passed through Coria: even today there is a surname which dates back to that time, Japón (Japan). By observing this place intently I felt its history.
Exhibition: Sala Martines de Leon, Coria del Rio, Sevilla.
